The wisdom of old and young

As we grow older, some of our activities may stop but new opportunities of love and living may also open up. Whatever our age, God is there for us, and always will be.

Read Isaiah 46:3-4

 
At a time of crisis, God reminds the nation of Israel, through Isaiah, that he was there when their nation began, and also when each individual person was conceived and born.
Whatever troubles we have in life, who else but God can carry us through life, from birth until our hairs are grey?

Read Proverbs 23:22-25

 
The whole book of Proverbs is a message from a father to his son. He is passing on advice collected and tested by wise people, for his son to follow. He wants him to grow up fearing God. You might take time to read all of Proverbs, comparing these sayings with your own traditional ones.

?)Do we listen to our parents and bring them joy?

Many older people have great wisdom about life, their faith, history, or perhaps traditional practices (such as the use of medicinal herbs) from which we might all benefit. Seek first the wisdom of the elders, while they are able to give it.

Read Job 32

 
As Job suffers greatly, his three older friends listen and then give their advice. Unfortunately, they are of no help, because they get it wrong! A young man called Elihu eventually speaks up, with more understanding. Sometimes younger people see things more clearly. As our world changes so fast, particularly in the areas of science, computers and communications, there may often be times when we also need to listen to the young.

We should not fear change as we grow older. We have the company of both older and younger people – and above all, the company of our Lord – to help us meet life’s changes.

बूढा र जवानको बृद्धि

जसै हामी बूढो हुँदै जान्छौं, हाम्रा केही कृयाकलापहरू रोकिन्छन् तर प्रेमको र जीवनको नयाँ मौकाहरू खुल्न सक्छन्।हाम्रो उमेर जेजस्तो भएपनि, हाम्रो परमेश्वर हुनुहुन्छ र उहाँ हाम्रो लागि सधैँ नै हुनुहुन्छ।
यशैया ४६:३-४ पढ्नुहोस्।

 
कष्टको समयमा परमेश्वरले इस्राएल जातिलाई यशैयाद्बारा यो स्मरण गराउनुभयो कि उनीहरूको जातिको सुरूवातमा उहाँ हुनुहुन्थ्यो र हरेक व्यक्ति आफ्नो आमाको गर्भमा हुँदा पनि उहाँ त्यहाँ हुनुहुन्थ्यो।हाम्रो जीवनमा जस्तो सुकै समस्या भएतापनि, परमेश्वरले जीवनभरि उठाउनुहुन्छ।हाम्रो जन्मदेखि लिएर हाम्रो कपाल फुलुन्जेलसम्म पनि।

हितोपदेश २३:२२-२५ पढ्नुहोस्।

 
हितोपदेशको सम्पूर्ण पुस्तक नै बुवाले छोरालाई दिएको सन्दे हो।उनले बुद्धिमान मानिसहरूले जम्मा गरेका र परिक्षण गरेका सुझावहरू आफ्ना छोरालाई पालन गर्न दिंदैछन्।आफ्नो छोरा परमेश्वरको भयमा हुर्केको उनी चाहन्छन्।तपाईंले समय लिएर यो हितोपदेशको सम्पूर्ण भाग पढ्न सक्नुहुन्छ र यहाँ भएका भनाइहरूलाई आफ्नो रीतिथितिसँग तुलना गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।
१) के हामीले हाम्रा बुवा आमाको कुरा सुन्छौं र उहाँहरूलाई आनन्द दिन्छौं ?

धेरै बुढा पाकालाई जीवन, विश्वास, इतिहास र शायद रीतिथितिका कुराहरू बारेमा धेरै ज्ञान हुन्छ (जस्तै जडिबुटीको प्रयोग, गाउँले उपचार) , जसबाट हामी सबैले फाइदा पाउन सक्छौं।पहिला ठूलाहरूको सल्लाहलाई खोज्नुहोस्,जब उहाँहरूले त्यो दिन सक्छ।

(?) के तपाईंले आफू भन्दा ठूलाको कुरा सुन्नुहुन्छ ?

अय्यूब ३२ पढ्नुहोस्।

 
अय्यूब ठूलो संकष्टमा पर्दा, उनका तीनजना साथीहरूले उनको कुरा सुन्छन् र सल्लाह दिन्छन्।तर अभाग्यवश ती सल्लाह सहायतापूर्ण भएनन् किनकि उनीहरूले गलत बुझे ! एउटा जवान मानिस एलिहूले अन्तमा, अझ बढी बुझेर बोल्छन्।कति पटक सानाहरूले कुरा अझ स्पष्ट बुझ्छन्।हाम्रो संसार यति छिटो परिवर्तन हुने भएको हुनाले, अझ झन विज्ञानको क्षेत्रमा, कम्फ्यूटरमा र संचारमा यस्ता समयहरू पनि हुन सक्छन् जब हामीले हाम्रा सानाहरूको कुरा पनि सुन्नु पर्छ।

(?) हामीले आफूभन्दा सानोको सल्लाह कहिले सुन्नुपर्छ ?

हामी पाको हुँदै जाँदा आउने परिवर्तनहरूको बारेमा डर मान्नु पर्दैन।हामीसँग बूढापाका र साना (जवान) दुवैको साथ छ – जसद्बारा हामीलाई जीवनका परिवर्तनहरूको सामना गर्न सहायता मिल्छ।
