Lalitpur 22 April: Shanti Nepal organized a Thanksgiving Ceremony to observe its fifth birth anniversary with the slogan: Celebrating the Joy of Touching Lives at Nepali Ishai Mandali, Lalitpur Church Dhobighat Lalitpur. The program was led by Mr. Dinesh Badu Shrestha, General Secretary of Shanti Nepal. The ceremony was started at 10.30 a.m. followed by candle light by five distinguished guests. The most important factor of the program was to offer heartfelt Praise and Worship to our God almighty and thank him for all of his faithfulness throughout the journey of Shanti Nepal over the last five years. There were about 70 delegates representing various churches, Christian organizations from Kathmandu Valley and governmental agencies. During the two and half hour long ceremony, Mr. Krishna Man Shakya presented the organizational journey so far and Prof. Dr. Rajendra Kumer Rongong encouraged Shanti Nepal and its stakeholders from the word of God to continue to serve people in need. While speaking from the Bible, he said, ” Old people can not make new Nepal, only new people, who are born again in Christ, can make new Nepal.” Similarly, Mr. Danduraj Ghimire the Local Development Officer of Lalitpur District appreciated the work of Shanti Nepal. While addressing the ceremony, Dr. Tirtha Thapa, Executive Director of HDCS, Mr. Raj Kumar Manandhar, Chairman of PHCRC management committee and Secretary of Chapagaun Village Development Committee, Dr. Beverly Booth from United Mission to Nepal, Ms. Kirsti Kirjaveinen from the Finish Evangelical Lutheran Mission also shared their encouraging remarks.
Shanti Nepal, in recognition of the valuable contributions made by different organization over the last five years, handed over the Letter of Appreciation to 30 different stakeholders, donors and partners during the celebration. Prof. Dr. Rajendra Kumar also officially launched Shanti Nepal’s website www.shantinepal.org.np
The program was ended with the word of prayer led by Mr. Remund Karthak.
