Despite continuous rain huge number of people came out with their umbrellas and raincoats. The rally finally conversed at Ratnapark into a meeting. Hindu’s, Buddhist’s, Muslim’s and human right activist’s leaders were present in the meeting to show solidarity to this move. Christians in capital spread the news of love and peace against the persecution and terror.
Fr. Silas Bogati , of the catholic church shed light on the bombing incident with opening prayer. Bishop Narayan Sharma of Believers Church concluded the meeting with prayer. In his prayer he recited the word s of our Lord Jesus as follow
“Father Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing”
The rally demanded government of Nepal to guarantee the security of all religious groups including Christian.
In the day of bombing one girl fifteen and one women thirty were died. Among the injured there are seven in Patan hospital and 3 in Alka Hospital. A lot of others are mentally disturbed. This incident has not only affected the assumption church members but the wider population. Two of the people who were in the church on that Saturday lost their hearing.
Among the dead was fifteen year girl from St. Mary’s school Chelestina, her mother was severely injured and she passed away today (31 May). Her father was also among the injured. In the meanwhile, Mr. R. P. Mainali of defense Army has officially taken the responsibility of the bombing by a press statement issued on Friday. In his statement he has warned all Christian to leave the country within a month otherwise he will bomb every Christian home. This is a serious threat. Let us pray for change of his heart and whoever backing him.
Earlier this year and last year he had demanded money from many pastors. Even killed one Catholic priest, Fr. John Prakash in June last year. Many pastors and lay leaders who were working in the terai had to flee because of his threat.
NepalChucrh.com along with the Nepali Christian community appeals for prayer against this kind of persecution. We also appeal all who care for Nepali Christians to make a pressure to Nepal government as well as India, USA , European union and UN to make effort to stop all these anti Christian activities.
