Jesus and the money changers
Read Luke 19:45-48
As Jesus entered Jerusalem, many of his disciples welcomed him and sang praises to him. However, shortly
after his arrival, Jesus went to the temple area and started to turn over the tables of money changers and those selling doves. He rebuked the crowd, including the chief priests and teachers of the law, for their lack of faith and for allowing the temple to be corrupted.
?)What motivated Jesus’ anger?
?)Did he clearly explain the reasons for his anger?
?)What can we learn from his actions?
?)Should we be willing to challenge cultural customs if they are against God’s will?
?)How could we consider doing this?
Jesus was attacking the exploitation of the poor. Although he had no formal authority in the temple, people listened to him because of what he did. He made sure that he explained his actions to those around and he was motivated by a deep concern for the poor.

येशू र पैसा साट्नेहरु
लूका १९:४५-४८ पढ्नुहोस्।
येशू यरुशलेममा प्रवेश गर्नुहुँदा, उहाँका चेलाहरु मध्ये धेरैले उहाँको प्रशंसा गाउँदै स्वागत गरे।तर उहाँ आइपुग्नु भएको केही समयमा नै, येशू मन्दिर क्षेत्रमा प्रवेश गर्नुभयो र पैसा साट्नेहरुका टेबुलहरु र परेवा बेच्नेहरुका टेबुलहरु पल्टाउन थाल्नुभयो। उहाँले प्रधानपूजाहारी र व्यवस्थाका धर्मगुरुहरु लगायत भींडलाई उनीहरुको विश्वासको कमी र मन्दिरलाई भ्रष्ट बनाएकोमा हप्काउनु भयो।
येशूलाई केले रीस उठायो ?
के उहाँले आफ्नो रीसका कारणहरु स्पष्टसँग बताउनुभयो ?
उहाँको कामबाट हामीले के सिक्न सक्छौं ?
यदि परमेश्वरको इच्छा विरुद्ध छन् भने के हामीले ती सांस्कृतिक रीतिहरुलाई चुनौती दिन तयार हुनु पर्छ ?
हामीले यो कसरी गर्न सक्छौं ?
येशूले गरीबको शोषणको विरुद्धमा आक्रमण गर्दै हुनुहुन्थ्यो। मन्दिरमा उहाँको औपचारिक अधिकार नभए तापनि उहाँले गर्नुभएको काम देखेर उहाँको कुरा सुने।उहाँले गर्नुभएको कार्यको व्याख्या गर्नुभएको कुराको निश्चित गर्नुभयो र गरीबप्रतिको वास्ताको कारण उहाँलाई यस्तो गर्ने उत्प्रेरणा मिल्यो।
निम्न खण्डहरुलाई पनि हेर्नुहोस्।
व्यवस्था १०:१८ – विधवा र टुहुराको प्रतिरक्षा गर्नुहोस्।
यशैया ५८:५-६ – अन्यायका साङ्लाहरु तोड्ने।
आमोस ५:११-१५ – you trample on the poor.
मीका ६: ८ – न्यायी पूर्वक काम गर्नु र कृपालाई प्रेम गर्नु।
