On March 1, 2015 from 4-6 pm at Gyaneshwor Church, OM Nepal is hosting a celebration of George Verwer’s 60th Spiritual Birthday for all Christians who would like to attend. George, the Founder and former International Director of Operation Mobilisation (OM), led OM for over 40 years before stepping down in August 2003. OM is a ministry of evangelism, discipleship training and church planting.
Saved at the age of 16 when he heard Billy Graham speak in New York, within a year about 200 of his classmates had found a relationship with God through George sharing the Gospel with them. George had a growing conviction to share the Word of God on foreign soil. He started with distribution of Gospels of John in Mexico along with two friends. Later he went to Spain with his wife where the work of OM was born.
In 1968, George and his colleagues working in India were forced to leave the country, so they drove up to Nepal with vans full of Christian literature. OM’s work started in Kathmandu then and has grown ever since.
Today OM reaches across the world through the ministry of their ship Logos Hope and over 6,100 people working in over 110 nations to make Christ known.
Please feel free to invite all church members to come listen to George share about his life and missions, and to get involved in what OM Nepal is doing in this beautiful country. We look forward to celebrating with you!
