1. Job Title: Interim Administration and Finance Senior Assistant
Location: MCC Office in Lalitpur, minimal travel to working areas -5%
Period: November 10, 2014 to April 15, 2015
Position Summary: The Interim Administration and Finance Senior Assistant will work closely with the Admin & Finance Officer to organise fund transfers to partner organizations, prepare monthly bank reconciliation, internal accounting transactions, payroll sheet and enter all financial activities into accounting software (FASWin) each month, and meet with Rep to review monthly activity. This position will also include keeping MCC Nepal financial records organized and up to date in preparation for audits, ensuring that bills and taxes are paid in timely fashion and managing office logistics and supplies. Following a learning period of 1.5 months (with training from the Admin & Finance Officer,) the Senior Assistant will take on primary responsibility for this work for the remainder of the position.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to MCC Nepal’s values
- Minimum 1 year experience working in the development sector.
- Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or related experience.
- Detailed knowledge of Government of Nepal accounting requirements or ability to learn said requirements outside of the work environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Demonstrated financial management knowledge and skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali
- Demonstrated competence in accounting, data entry and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced computer skills and willingness to learn and use new computer programs including accounting software.

2. Job Title: Program Coordinator
Location: MCC Office in Lalitpur, 50% travel to working areas
Position Summary: The Program Coordinator will work closely with the existing Program Coordinator, the Admin & Finance Officer, and the Country Representative to support MCC Nepal’s Nepali partner organizations with project planning, monitoring and evaluation for MCC-funded projects and programs. The Program Coordinator will be the primary contact with assigned partner organizations, working in a participatory and collaborative way to support partner organizations in their work. The Program Coordinator is supervised by the Country Representative.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to MCC Nepal’s values
- Five+ years of experience in related work
- Master’s degree in Social Development or related field preferred, or Bachelor’s and extensive experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Nepali
- Demonstrated competence in project design, outcome-oriented planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstrated competence in qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Demonstrated ability to create and follow project budgets
- Self-motivated, able to work alone to deadlines, knows when to seek help
- Willingness and ability to frequently travel to remote districts and walk to hilly remote areas
