Kathmandu District court has given a verdict to release Krishna Bahadur BK (James) and Dhirendra Sunar on bail amount of rupees ten thousand each.
Krishna and Dhirendra were arrested by by the Police on September 7 in Kathmandu. They are detained in Sohrakhutte police post for investigation. Both were charged with proselytizing.
According to sources Krishna and Dhirendra were distributing a written invitation to the neighbor’s of a local church for a progrrame. Where some extremist came against them and reported to police and accused of trying to convert local people to Christianity and arrested on 7th September 2023. They were released on bail on October 1, 2023.
Within the last couple of months there was aggression against Christins a in Nepal. Incidents involved vandalizing vehicles and church buildings, assault of leaders and arrests in different occasions.
