Nepal’s Supreme Court has reinstated the House of Representatives, by quashing a decision of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Concluding the eight weeks-long hearing, a constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Ja Ba Ra issued the verdict on Tuesday. The bench has ordered the government to summon the House session within 13 days from today.
Prime Minister KP Oli had made the decision to dissolve the parliament on December 20, 2020. The decision was heavily criticized as it was not in accordance to the constitution of Nepal.
