Nepal’s Position Paper on Religious minorities under threat in South Asia

Pastor Tanka Subedi presented Nepal’s position paper on Religious Freedom in Nepal at the 23nd Session Human Rights Council in Geneva WEA Side event on 18 September 2014. The theme of the event was “How targeted violence and hostile laws are undermining the freedom of religious minorities in the region.”   

The side event was organised by the Alliance Defending Freedom, All India Christian Council; Christian Solidarity International, Christian Solidarity Worldwide, National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka and World Evangelical Alliance. Among other speakers were Matthew Jones, Public Affairs Team Leader, Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Biplab Barua (Bangladesh), Tehmina Arora (India) and Godfrey Yogarajah (Sri Lanka).

Dr. Prof Henier Bielefeldt, UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion or Belief was the keynote speaker in the event.
