Expert in Britain said today that world’s oldest bible has been put together and published online. It contains about 800 pages.1600 years old hand written Greek Parchment, the Codex Sinaticus is provided online by the British Library, National Library of Russia, St. Catherin’s monastery Egypt and Leipzig University Library Germany as a joint venture.
This project was run from past four years. Photographs of the manuscript and translations are provided on the website.
“The Codex Sinaiticus is one of the world’s greatest written treasures,” “This 1600-year-old manuscript offers a window into the development of early Christianity and first-hand evidence of how the text of the Bible was transmitted from generation to generation,” said Scot McKendrick, head of Western manuscripts at the British Library.
1460 pages of the manuscripts believed to be written in the time of Constantine the Great. Some of the pages of the manuscripts are in poor condition.
Although this is a great project, and a great heritage for world. The Bible kept online is neither complete nor authentic as a whole. Some parts of the Codex Sinaticus are not accepted by Christians as part of the Bible on the other had the project does not provide complete Bible.
