 New vacancy at UMN

 United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an International Development Organisation which strives to address root causes of poverty as it serves the people of Nepal. UMN builds the organisational and technical capacity of partner organisations so that they will be able to work more effectively and effi ciently with their target communities to address their needs. UMN recognises a growing awareness in the Christian communities in Nepal of the importance of a wholistic response to people’s needs to support
this.

• Do you believe that practical demonstrations of Christian love and care can transform communities and villages?

• Are you looking for an opportunity to learn, grow in a practical way in leadership, management or development work and be involved in addressing injustice and poverty in Nepali society?

• Are you enthusiastic about reaching out to the poor and the marginalised communities being served by UMN?

• Are you prepared to live outside of Kathmandu, in rural locations?

• Are you a Bachelor degree holder in any discipline from a recognised

UMN wants to enable Christians with leadership, management and professional skills to engage in transformational development. In UMN multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organisations in remote districts of the country, building partnerships that lead to healthy, strong and empowered individuals, families, and communities.

Internship Programme (6 months) is designed to give young people the opportunity to experience how a Christian INGO works in Nepal.


Professional Development Trainee Programme (1 year) is designed to give people the opportunity to develop professional skills in a specifi c area of work and equip them for their future career in development or church organisations Leadership

Development Trainee Programme (1 year) is designed to give people with leadership potential the opportunity to be trained in relevant skills so that they are equipped to take a leadership role in development or church organisations.


Professional Development and Leadership Development candidate might be placed in any of 7 clusters of UMN.


You will be able to be involved in some of the following of UMN’s areas of work that relate to your own experience or interest according to UMN’s available opportunities: Education; Enterprise Development; Disaster Management; Children at Risk; Food Sovereignty; Health & Gender; HIV/AIDS; Peace & Confl ict Transformation; Organisational Development or in Corporate Teams (e.g. Finance, Personnel, ICT, Marketing). You will also have the opportunity to learn about UMN’s work based on Biblical principles. Apart from gaining experience and developing your competencies, you will receive an allowance to cover your basic expenses.


UMN has a rigorous selection process and only the short-listed candidates will be invited to attend the assessment centre. We especially encourage applications from women and marginalised groups.

Why there are more upset and jobless Christians than others even in the Christian organazations, even there are that much of vacancies ?
Why a rich gentilecould obtain more opportunities than a poor and persecuted Christians?
