The collapse in Dharan prayer house (church) by Pastor Joseph, the chair person of Dharan Christian Society, This is how it happened In September 29 a temporarily built bamboo house collapsed in Dharan, Zion Prayer house during a conference. This two storied bamboo house was built to provide the participants a place to stay. The house collapsed and 24 people were killed on the spot and 63 others were severely injured. According to the managing Committee among the deads the Zion Prayer House has done the funeral service for the 7. Among the injured, 1 is admitted to B. P. Koirala at the orthopedics Section and 2 are being cared for in Kathmandu B & B Hosptal. And others are taken care of in their local hospitals. How Did it happened? According to the speaker of the event Mr. Moses Rai, the conference was organized by the El-Shaddai Prayer House in Kalingpong, India for the El-Shaddai denomination in Nepal and India. There were more than 100 churches participating in this first ever held huge conference. This was organized at Dharan El-Shaddai Prayer House, from 28 sep-2 oct. There were about 2000 people participating from India and Nepal And this 2 storied bamboo house was built at the open ground of the church for the women participants. Due to the heavy rain on 29 the tent roof got soaked and as the floor of the ground floor also got wet the people from the ground floor went up. This made the upper floors over loaded. And suddenly the house started to collapse from eastern side to western side.
The Nepal Police, The Nepal Armed Police Force and the Nepal Army arrived to the spot and helped in rescuing the people from. The next day the Home Minister paid visit and inspected the place and announce to give Rs2500.00 for the family of dead and free medications to the injured (which is not yet received by the families).To observe the situation Cultural Minster Dr. Minendra Rijal, constituent assembly member Kiran Rai, the vice president of Nepal Sadbhawana Party, Sitaram Poddar, President of Maoist Resurect Party, Mr. Matrika Prasad Yadav, World Hindu federation, representatives from local political parties, Christian Socity, went to inspect the situation. They offered condolences to the leaders of the church. A committee has been formed with 4 members: Assistant CDO Mr. Harihar Dahal will be coordinating a committee of four members for investigation. This investigation team consist of Police officer Rajendra Dhakal, Judge Pramesh Pokhrel, Civil Engineer Pradip Singh along with Mr. Hrirar Dahal./. To help with the task giving them right information a sub committee is formed with a five members from the organizing committee, with the leaders: president of Sunsari Christian Society Joseph Rai (Himal), Speaker of Zion Church Mr. Moses Rai, Advocate Pikam Rai (Shadra) and Devendra Limbu ( Daniel). From the 16th of Asoj (16) the govrnment investigating team has started interviewing with the family members of the deads, the injured and the organizing committee. The organizing team has expressed its dissatisfaction towards the investigating team formed by the government since it has no representative from the related organization, local organizations, political parties and civil society.
After the accident the local political party, civil society appealed that while conducting such programmes the managing team should take care that they take only the people with their capacity and not more than the capacity and not to build such type of temporary bamboo houses for such gatherings.

In Tarahara there is only one prayer house: Eben-Ezer Prayer House. Anything under Tarahara is incorrect. I was there... I got photos of both the night of the incident and the day followed right up to the funeral.
