Mission to Mid Western Hills of Nepal

As we know that there is serious epidemic going on in mid western hills of Nepal. More then two hundred and thirty (230) people were succumbed to death due to the epidemic. Nepal Government and other concerned organizations are working theses area but not sufficient and need more help.

As a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and a good citizen of Nepal, it is time to demonstrate kindness and love to the needy and effected people. This is time to be a good Samaritan and serve those who need love and care.   Having all these things in mind, we Christian community have decided to send a medical team in to the affected area with medicine. Nepali CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association) also were planning to go there to serve but needed help. We had meeting and after the meeting, we decided to go corporately to be more effective. Churches and Christian organization will raise fund to support CMDA  and same time all the believers will be praying for them. Christian communities have decided to make appeal to all the Church and organization to provide fund to make this mission possible. It is urgency and we need to respond to the need as soon as possible.   t this moment we need about one million Rupees for medicine, equipments, transportation, food etc. There are several churches and organization who are encouraging us and given us word regarding relief fund. We would like to request you to join hand for this mission for HIS glory.  Your quick response will help to make decision regarding Mission.

Meeting with NCMDA Team in Patan Chruch


Decisions:


1. Coordination with government is needed. Those who are going to talk to Govt.  (Prim minister,  Health minister or Government disaster management team)  need to inform about Christian community   ready to send relief team in to most needed area.

a. Dr. Isu jang Karki and Mr. CB Gahatraj will initiate to Government disaster management team. They will mention to Government about the availability of the Christian team.


b. Dr. Indra Napit will contact Dr. in epidemiology department for coordination. Dr. Napit and Dr. Olak Jirel will coordinate the Medical team.
This team also will give the name of the people who will be in the team. This team will buy the medicine, and fix the date to leave for the area


c. Pastor Mukunda Sharma, Pastor Prakas Bagale and Mr. Dil Bahadur (from Chaurhajari) will go into the area soon after we get permission from Government for local level coordination.

We have about 25 to 30 professionals (Doctors and Nurses), who are willing to go to most needed area for one month. This team will be divided in to three groups and each of the group will go in the area for about ten days. 
Christian community will ask help from Local churches to deploy about 90 volunteers in one month.

We seek help from Government for local coordination and transport of medicine and doctor’s team into the area.

2. First team will be lead by Dr. Arun Budha.

3. There will be team in Kathamandu to coordinate with churches for relief fund.
Rev. Prakash Subba, Barnabas Shrestha, Pastor Sundar Thapa, Pastor Suman Gurung, Pastor Kaji Ratna Maharjan, Pastor Philemon Chhetri, and Pastor Tanka Subedi  will be contact person for the churches.

4. We open Bank account in NIC Bank for Disater relief fund.  Rev. Prakash Subba, Krishna B. Shrestha (Barnabas Shrestha) and Dr. Indra Napit will open joint account.

5. We all will communicate with Christian communities and organization for the relief fund.

6. We will request local church to provide Local Volunteers. We aspect about 90 volunteers from Local church ( 30 volunteers at a time for ten days. 3 times in a month)

Budget 
 (This budget is for 10 days)
Transportation for tech. team to get there with medicine and equipments  Rs. 400000 /-
Medicine and supply          Rs. 400000/-
Food for 10 tech.  team and 30 volunteers
Rs. 400 per day per person
                                     10 + 30 = 40  х 400       Rs.   16000/-
Emergency fund (if needed evacuation of the team)     Rs.150000/

        Total   Rs.964000/-

If we receive assistance from government for transportation, the budget will be less then  Rs. 600000/-

Note:  Lok Mani Dhakal from NCS made arrange meeting with Deputy  Health minister and he has given us word to provide help as much as possible.
