World Vision International Nepal (WVIN), an international, Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to work with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice, is looking for potential Nepalese candidate to fill out the following positions

Work  Purpose

To Lead, guide and support the ADP Team Leaders in the operations of ADP, Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA), Advocacy and special funded projects in the districts to ensure that program outcomes are achieved and communities are transformed and empowered. 

To provide overall leadership in the Area Development Programme (ADP) and facilitate Transformational Development Process of ADP, partner organization through coordination of appropriate interventions and effective and efficient use of resources within the frame-work of ADP mission and strategies.

To monitor the overall security situation of the country and provide periodic update and recommendations to the management and other stakeholders; also network with national security groups to ensure accurate and regular security information flow and train staff on security planning and management.

To support programme/ projects in ensuring the programme quality by facilitating assessment, baseline survey, design, monitoring and evaluations of development programme/ projects; in collaboration with programme teams in the programme areas.

To contribute to the ADP in the area of Education and ECCD in general and particularly develop the capacity of partners in the field of Education.

Above positions represent WVIN development philosophy and network in the respective work areas, among government, I/NGOs and CBOs at the national and district level. These are key positions to mentor, support and develop partners and WVIN staff as appropriate in the respective programme areas.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree (Preferably MA) in Social Sciences, Development Management, International Development or relevant field

Minimum of 5-7 years experience in leadership/ management position and minimum of 3 years Community Development experience

Understand poverty issues, development theories and holistic development

Proven management and leadership ability with organizational skill.

Bachelors’ Degree (preferably Masters’) in Development oriented field with 3-5 years of experience in community development works.

Ability to work with major donors, in-depth knowledge regarding operations, relief, development and advocacy.

Knowledge and skills on project management cycle, research, design, monitoring and evaluation.

Skills on professional writing including preparing proposals and reports etc.

Bachelor degree (preferably PGD) in security management with 3-5 years experience in a similar field  with management experiences

Ability to train on security management.

Monitor security situation of the country and working areas

Proven management and leadership ability

Proven experience as a team player

Good communication and crisis management skill

Demonstrated collaboration and  Networking skills

Bachelor’s degree from recognized university in the discipline that is relevant to DME/development work.

Knowledge on project life cycle, research, design, monitoring and evaluation in this cycle.

Capacity to develop methodologies, collect, analyzes and interprets quantitative and quality data in multi sectoral context.

Experience in research, design, monitoring and evaluation.

Bachelor’s degree in Education

Minimum two years work experience in community development works with I/NGOs

Willing to take initiative in doing action research

 Excellent networking and community organizing skills as per job role

 Experience using Microsoft Office and data base

 Knowledge and practice of participatory tools in community development, management and ability to align with organizational goals.

 Good interpersonal relationship skills, can communicate persuasively and ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

 Ability to operate effectively and sensitively in the cultural context of Nepal, particularly for the respective districts. Command over local language/ dialect and good understanding of the local culture as appropriate.

 Proven experience as a team player and collaboration skills

 Good learning attitude and having concern for the poor and vulnerable people
