Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda',  is elected the first prime minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal by the Constituent Assembly (CA).

Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda',Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) (CPN-M), led a decade-long insurgency against the Hindu monarchy now became the first elected prime minister of Nepal.

Prachanda won 464 votes, while his rival Sher Bahadur Deuba from Nepali Congress bagged 113 votes, CA speaker Subash Nemwang declared Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' as prime minister of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
