Christmas is celebrated as birthday of Jesus Christ  the savoiur of the world.

The annual Christmas reminds me of a couple travelling on a ship for the first time. In ignorance, they had taken sufficient food for themselves. Each day, they saw other passengers having sumptuous feasts in the dining room. During meal times, this couple went below to their cabin; and ate food they had brought from home. After a week, they decided they wanted a change. They went to the dining room and offered to pay for dinner. An official of the ship replied, "We have included the meals in your ticket. You can join the other passengers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner whenever you wish!"

23 December 20009, Kathmandu, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was present in the Christmas tea party in Kathmandu.

Christian leaders from the valley, political leaders and human right activists were present in the programme. Programme was organized by Naya Sambidhanko lagi Christian Sujhab Samiti.
