Subject: Keep trusting at all times
Scripture: Psalm 34
Introduction: For many years I have desired to watch a movie serial called ‘Roots’. It is the story of the black Negroes who were forcibly abducted from their villages in Africa and brought to the USA as slaves. It is indeed a sad story. In the midst of trouble they wrote many songs today known as Negro Spiritual. If you study these songs you will find that amidst great pain and uncontrollable tears they found the comfort and direction of God. It took them years to be free but till then their only helper was the God of the Bible. It is said that “Negro spirituals are songs created by the Africans who were captured and brought to the United States to be sold into slavery. This stolen race was deprived of their languages, families, and cultures; yet, their masters could not take away their music.

Dear Friends:
We thank God for one bit of positive news this week—Chairman of the Constituent Committee, Mr Nilamber Acharya, has given a copy of the draft constitution to the Speaker, Mr Subas Nembang. Two/three smaller committees are yet to give their reports, but the CA has prepared the main draft. Praise the Lord! However, we now need to pray more as our leaders have to decide on so many more contentious issues regarding the constitution and the country. Thus, I invite you for prayer for our country. |
